Scenes from NYC

Not to be eclipsed by the private jet adventure, here are some pictures from the NYC trip itself. We had a wonderful time, and didn't take so many tourist type pictures, as we did that the last two trips to Manhattan. This time we spent eating lots of sushi, shopping for clothes on 7th, 8th, and 9th streets in the East Village, and spending some time on the Upper West Side, which we hadn't done before. I didn't want to lug my Nikon to Times Square, but we did have a grand time over there -- Hairspray with Jerry Mathers ("The Beaver") and a ride down Broadway in a "bicycle rickshaw." We went to the Virgin Megastore for some music for C -- then a trip to Starbucks and back to the Hyatt for a late night snack of buffalo wings (two nights in a row!). It was a fabulous trip and a great way for me to spend time with my girl.

Descending into the bowels of the subway system to take the shuttle line.
Waiting at 5th and 53rd -- the stop for St. Patrick's.

Don't worry, Mom -- I wasn't THAT close to the train :)

Exploring planets at the American Museum of Natural History.

Breakfast at the Hyatt Skyway

In the hotel lobby... Grand Central Station -- our hotel was right next to it -- very convenient for two gals who LOVE travel by subway. One of my favorite shots -- my model daughter in the passageway to the 4 5 6 and 7 lines under GCS.
On the 4 going uptown.
I've run my child to exhaustion!

Breakfast at the Comfort Diner in Midtown This Beatles fan had to show her daughter the Dakota -- John Lennon's residence on the Upper West Side.

Where's the pic of you at the Dakota on "The Spot"? Was C appreciative of the historicity? Looks like a fantastic place to visit and you both clearly had a blast, except maybe that, "Mom, NOT while I'm eating!" picture.

Love the perspective on the escalator! Looked like a moving sidewalk at first until you look at the end, sort of like those tilted houses.
