Long story short -- C and I were stuck on the tarmac at LaGuardia for four hours on Friday afternoon. The dopeheads at American finally cancelled the flight after four hours and one minute. Thus we were stranded without a flight home -- no where to stay -- NO HELP from American Airlines (jerks) -- it's night fall --New York on a Friday night.
My guardian angel came to the rescue (she and her friends were standing in line behind us at the ticket counter and heard me mention B and Down Syndrome). Won't go into details, but God is really, really good. C and I were rescued.
My angel booked a room for us at the Intercontinental Barclay in Manhattan, fed us a great steak dinner on 50th and Lexington, and the next day, jetted us back to the FOB (private jet airport) in our hometown on her husband's private jet. They all rode along with us and continued on to their hometown after they dropped us off. C told me that this was the best birthday present she could ever have had. We had never met these women, who live in a city six hours from my home, but now I have a new best friend on my "keeper" roster. Thank you so much, S...words cannot express our gratitude.
Mid-journey ... Waiting to get on the plane in Bloomington after re-fueling.
After three hours in the air -- getting off the plane at homebase after being rescued from the actions of the crackheads at American Airlines. My dad, mom and B were there to greet us. F was "hospitaling," so the posse picked us up.
Mom thanks my angel as I swill water.

Wow! What an adventure. Those girls sound like very kind and generous folks. It is times like this that you realize how many lovely people are out there in the world.
Amen to that, sister!
