Random Shots of Santa Fe

Professional journalist tip #1: Jillian says to always use the flash -- even outdoors. It works!!

This photo cracks me up b/c Frank has his eyes wide open trying not to blink from the flash.

Daddy and daughter.

We sure enjoyed the wine selections at the house!

Cait is stooping a bit so I won't look so very short :)

Ricky, Jillian and Cait in front of the miraculous Loretto staircase.

Two of our five girls at the Burrito Cafe on Washington.

Jillian in front of "Cupcake," our favorite clothing haunt on Montezuma Ave.

Cait's size 10 foot demonstrates the enormity of the bear track found outside our kitchen window.

Facebook picture take one.

The Sangre de Christos with Los Alamos tucked in the center.

Cait and "Red" the cow dog in our driveway.

Bee and Red on the back patio.

My husband on eternal KP duty -- such a big helper.

Looking out from the back porch. That view takes my breath away.

Apparently the beautiful weather in Santa Fe last week was perfectly timed. This week, they received snow and temperatures in the teens. As for Texas, we are twenty degrees colder than yesterday, and I am not leaving the house.

Bee had her wisdom teeth removed yesterday at the behest of her oral surgeon who was worried about a "stacking" problem. Her 12-year molars cannot erupt because the wisdom teeth are on top of them. Not good. So the poor little one is in bed with her painkillers and Barney tapes. Apparently she resorts to the nostalgia from her youth in times of recuperation.

Cait has been tooling around town in her new / old car. Her dad gave her the car that belonged to his parents -- a nice 2005 Chrysler. This was a couple of weeks ago, but I neglected to report this to the blog audience. Well, this momma has a new found freedom in the Chrysler named "Alfred." Alfred takes Cait to school, to drama classes, to singing classes, to friends' homes, etc. Let me tell you how nice this is! Yes, I am still nervous about her driving, but at least I have let go to some extent.

lucky you and your santa fe trip! a good friend of mine is embarking on her southwest road trip today. it makes me homesick for the West.

by the way, i love those prayers to st. joseph of cupertino. i wish i had known about them when i took my general exams a few years ago. i'm sure my mom did a novena or two for me, though!
