Speaking of pools, I miss swimming. It's 50 degrees in the pool right now. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. We heated the pool for a weekend about a month ago, and we figured it costs about $50 -75 every time we want to take a dip in the winter. Needless to say, we won't be heating again until March or April. :(

Front Yard Re-Model
Our little home received a much-needed facelift in the front yard. We had a new sprinkler system put in and Charlie the landscaper (no, not my dad) planted some great stuff in the front beds (removing all the vestiges of my experiment with xeriscaping conducted a few years ago). Along with the new "Guy Wood" sidewalk, we are now respectable members of the neighborhood. To those who don't know, my "pool man" took on the task of remodeling my entire house (outside ONLY). How is that for full service? He poured a new sidewalk and concrete border for the flower beds, then stamped and stained the concrete -- so it looks like the decking around the pool but darker.

Japanese acacia on either side of the porch. Nice stuff.
Charlie said that Frank will have his own "Davy Crockett Victory Garden" now. Whatever that means...anyway, we have some lovely kale and other winter greens that I cannot remember. Just keeping things green until we can plant some heavy-duty veggies for spring and summer harvesting.

Sweet! Nice to get the neighborhood association off your back, eh? ;-) Looking forward to some veggie gardening pics!
My sis told me you had done some landscaping and that it looked wonderful. I will get to see it live on the 27th, as we are making the drive up there and will probably spend about 5 days. Lets get together!
